The story
We live by the philosophy that experiences create the most happiness in life. Vagabond started in 2017, when Taylor spotted the gap: Gudauri had a world-class mountain, but no one was offering world-class lessons in English. One American instructor, a phone number, and a small group of clients who wanted exactly that. That was the whole operation.
It didn't stay small for long. Word spread fast, and before long there were more requests than one person could handle. So the team grew, slowly and carefully, adding only people who fit: the right level of teaching, the same care for clients, the same love of the mountain.
Our passion is skiing, and there is nothing in the world that gives us greater joy than enabling others to do what we love most. Most of us come back year after year, for the love of the snow, the love of teaching, and the community we have built here.

English-speaking first
Vagabond was founded in 2017 by a team of English-speaking instructors from the USA, UK, Canada, and beyond who settled in Gudauri for the winters. Every lesson is taught in fluent English, so nothing about your skiing gets lost in translation.
Internationally certified instructors
We don't run an in-house cert. Every one of our instructors earned their qualifications elsewhere, most through APUL, others through PSIA, BASI, or APSI, before they ever taught for us. The person on the slope with you was vetted by someone other than their own boss.
Returning team, returning clients
Over 60% of our clients book us again the next season. The instructor you book this winter is most likely back next winter too. That continuity is rare in Gudauri. And it's a big part of why our reviews stay at 5 stars.
Where we work
We're based in Gudauri and teach only here. That focus is deliberate. After years on this one mountain, we know it inside out: the best slopes to learn on, how to stay ahead of the crowds, and where to find the best snow after a storm.
We are a team of internationally qualified instructors from the USA, UK, Canada, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy, Switzerland, South Africa, and Georgia. We live and work together all season, and we're always pushing to get better at our skiing, our teaching, and how we look after you. We not only teach you how to ski, we'll make sure you enjoy it so much that you come back for more!
